Error 47: Unknown file extension

A file was dropped on the MEGS_Log window that had an unrecognised extension. MEGS_Log therefore doesn't know what the type of file is.

Instead of drag and drop, try opening the file using the Open Borehole command on the File menu. This command allows you to explicitly specify the file type.
