New Borehole command (File menu and Toolbar) New borehole icon

Use this command to create a new, empty borehole in MEGS_Log.

If a borehole is not currently selected MEGS_Log will ask you which field is to contain the new borehole. If changes have been made to an existing bore in that field then MEGS_Log will ask you if you want to save the changes to that borehole.

Depending on your settings, MEGS_Log may ask you for the schema to use for the new borehole. The schema selected determines which fields are available for editing.

To set a default schema for new boreholes, use the Project tab of the Options dialog box.

You can open an existing document with the Open Borehole command.

Note that you cannot save boreholes that are created within MEGS_Log (as opposed to boreholes loaded from a file) as a Prolog 4.x file. Prolog 4.x files contain additional information beyond the borehole log that MEGS_Log is unable to generate from scratch.
