Set Base Depth command (Tools menu)

Select this command to select the Set Base Depth tool. When using the Set Base Depth tool the mouse cursor changes to a representation of an arrow pointing down to a unit boundary (Set Base Depth tool mouse cursor) and "Set base depth" is displayed in the MEGS_Log status bar.

With the Set Base Depth tool you can left click on a unit and the Set Depth dialog box will be displayed. You can use this dialog box to change the depth of the bottom of the unit.

The current Insert Mode setting affects the operation of this command. When the Insert Mode is Insert changes in the depth of a unit shift all underlying units, so that the depth of the immediately underlying unit remains the same. When the Insert Mode is Overwrite the depths of following units remain the same, and the thickness of the immediately underlying unit is adjusted.

See About Editing Tools for more information.
