Licence Information dialog box
This dialog displays information about the current MEGS_Log licence, if one has been detected. To show this dialog box select the Licence command under the Help menu.
The details of the text in the dialog and the buttons available changes depending on the type of licence control that is in use.
Text licence key
This form of dialog will also be displayed in the absence of any valid licence control veing detected.
If you have been provided with a new licence key by MEGS_Log support, then you can use the Enter licence key button to show the Enter Licence Key dialog and supply the key to MEGS_Log.
Sentinel key (hardware dongle)
This form of dialog will be displayed if a suitable Sentinel hardware key is detected and the expiry date on the Sentinel key is later than the expiry date of any text licence key that may have been previously provided.
- If you have a perpetual licence, you can use the Request support extension button to generate a file that MEGS_Log support requires in order to extend your licence support period.
- Similarly, if you have a time limited licence, you can use the Request licence extension button to generated a file that MEGS_Log support requires in order to extend your time limited licence.
If you have received a licence update file (with a "upw" extension) from MEGS_Log support, then you can click on the Update licence key button to load the new licence into the Sentinel key. Note that the same Sentinel key that was used to generate the licence request needs to be attached to the computer.
If no valid Sentinel key is attached to the computer, then the Request support extension/Request licence extension and Update licence key buttons will be disabled.
