Use this tab of the Options dialog box to
change settings relating to the opening and saving of borehole files in Prolog
4.0 and Prolog 4.1 format. This tab on its own may also be shown when opening
a specific Prolog 4.x file.
Settings available are:
Deduce a schema from Prolog file: if
ticked the schema for the file is determined from the contents of the Prolog
file. MEGS_Log creates a schema with the correct number of fields, sets the
type of each field that can be deduced and sets the type for the rest of the
fields to "string".
Use a MEGS_Log schema: if ticked the
nominated schema is used to open the file. See
About Schemas for more information on
how schemas affect the reading of Prolog 4 files. The number of
fields in the schema must match the number of fields in the Prolog file.
Data log: Loads the specified data log
from the file. Some Prolog 4.x files can contain more than one data log,
however you can only edit one at a time within MEGS_Log. This setting is
only available when opening a specific Prolog file and not in the Options
dialog box.
When this tab is being shown as part of opening a specific
Prolog file the dialog may also contain a message with more information about
the number of fields in the borehole and the number of fields in the currently
selected schema. You can use the information in this message to help you
choose the best settings to open or save the file.
About deducing Prolog 4 schemas
Schemas are deduced using the following protocol:
The first field is used as the rock type.
The second field is used as the percentage.
The third field is used as the seam name.
The last field is used as the depth.
The second last field is used as the thickness.
The third last field is used as the recovery.
A field named "ply", "ply name" or "seam-ply"
is used as the ply field.
A field name "sample", "sample number" or
"sample id" is used as the sample number field.
